Mariah Carey graces the cover of Shape magazine May 2012 and is featured in a cover story interview. The cover photo, revealing the music superstar’s well-toned abs, and a few tidbits have been released online in advance of the magazine which will hit newsstands on April 23.
It has been several months since the birth of her twins, Monroe and Moroccan and periodically the music superstar has let the world know of her weight loss and diet progress. She is a celebrity spokesperson for Jenny Craig. According to the interview that will appear in the upcoming issue of the magazine, she says she used to be able to lose weight simply by exercising more, but now says that since giving birth, “I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet.”

Check out a previous article in the magazine here which summarizes some of what she said to Rosie O’Donell during an appearance, a few months ago on The Rosie Show on OWN Network. At the time, she talked about her plan of action, both diet and exercise, that enabled her to lose the post-pregnancy 30 pounds in three months. She noted that she met with a Jenny Craig nutritionist who put her on a diet tailored to her specific needs, she worked out three times a week and did not weigh herself, but instead went by how her clothes fit.
