Kris Carr and the Crazy Sexy Diet


Kris Carr is the author of Crazy Sexy Diet: Eat Your Veggies, Ignite Your Spark, and Live Like You Mean It! The book was published in January 2011 and gone on to become a New York Times bestseller. She is also author of two previous books: Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips and Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor.

In essence, the diet is vegan or vegetarian diet emphasizing whole, natural, raw and living foods and organic green juices in place of what has unfortunately become the standard fare of processed foods, refined carbohydrates and factory-farm produced animal products. It is an anti-inflammatory, giving the dieter the tools and capability to reduce cellular inflammation which is the unavoidable consequence of being overweight or obese. Inflammation is the root cause of the majority of chronic disease including cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

In a recent interview, Kris Carr outlines the principles of healthy living for mind and body as revealed in the new book. She says it is about what you eat and think. The enormous appeal of both the book and the author herself is the positive, vibrant outlook she encourages. Eating to enhance healthy and lose weight does not have to be stressful or oppressive. I’m very glad to see the success of this book and the approach it espouses as it dispels the myth that being a vegan is somehow arduous and and restrictive.
