The Today Show’s Jenna Wolfe spoke about how viewers can get more benefits from their running. She first identified the predicament; running does not give a full body workout.
Anyone who is a longtime runner may be aware of this, but those who are new to running, whether they may be on a treadmill or taking to the open air in their neighborhoods and parks may not know.
Check out the video below.
During her appearance alongside Today Show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Wolfe introduced her video segment in which she spoke with a variety of experts. They discussed several different approaches to a more total body fitness. This, of necessity, requires strength training to develop and preserve muscle mass. And that’s really the key to getting fit and staying fit. It’s not just dropping the pounds. It’s also about building up muscle.
You’ve heard the old adage, I’m sure, that a pound of muscle burns more fat than a pound of fat. Well, this is is an adage that happens to be true!
Can’t get to the gym or traveling and still want to do strength training?
You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises is the book that I recommend for muscle building and strength training those who don’t have the money or the means to attend one of these pricey fitness classes mention in the video. It’s by a former military Special Operations (SpecOps) trainer. That’s formidable authority! That’s someone who knows a thing or to about peak performance. You can get it at Amazon as a paperback or on Kindle (Click here to get the free Kindle Reading App if you don’t yet have it).
A great segment on ‘Today Show’ with some inspiration for those want to take their fitness to the next level by adding strength training!
