Gladys Knight: 60 Pound Weight Loss on Dancing with the Stars; How She Lost Weight


R&B legend Gladys Knight was just voted off on Season 14 of Dancing with the Stars. While the departure from the show, with pro partner Tristan McManus has many disappointed, in leaving she reports exciting news; she lost 60 pounds. She becomes yet another celebrity who has achieved such success. We’ve seen Kirstie Alley’sKirstie Alley’s 100 pound weight loss and recently that of Nancy Grace and Ricki Lake on season 13.

What does Gladys Knight say of how she lost so much? In the video above she talks about the weight loss to ‘Extra.’ She told US Weekly:

“I’m going to keep Tristan. He can come over and work me out,” Knight — who kicked off her weight loss journey prior to joining the cast — says of her plan to keep the pounds off post-DWTS.

In addition to logging countless hours in the dance studio with McManus during rehearsals, Knight stuck to the Freshology meal delivery service and munched on Power Bars and fruit in between meals. […]

Despite her exit, Knight has vowed to continue her active lifestyle. “I will keep dancing,” says the star. “I really love it!”

Freshology is the DWTS diet — the diet itself was in the news during season 13 — I previously wrote about it here. As Gladys Knight has had a successful 60 pound weight loss we may again hear of it. While it may be a bit pricy for fresh gourmet meals delivered daily, eating healthy whole foods is something we can all achieve. It is quite fascinating that from all quarters the most popular and reputable diets call us away from precessed foods.
