Anna Kournikova Women’s Health Cover, Workout Tips


Anna Kournikova is on the cover of Women’s Health Magazine November 2011 and featured in a photo shoot and workout tips and routine, a cover story interview. The retired tennis star is one of two new trainers on Season 12 of the NBC reality TV program The Biggest Loser, along with Dolvett Quince replacing trainer Jillian Michaels.

The magazine will hit newsstands on October 18, 2011. Click here to see the cover picture and a few more photos. There is a free online workout routine at WomensHealthMag.com. The only equipment required is a four to six pound medicine ball. With it, you can do the following:

Medicine ball slam
Backhands and forehands
Russian twist
Squat with biceps curl
Wall sit with rotation
High-to-low chop

To intensity the workout she suggests adding in some cardio bursts — jumprope (with a rope or make pretend) for 30 seconds after each exercise.

Anna Kournikova also offers some motivational tips for exercising to lose weight: Envision the benefits of the workout when you feel like quitting. Start slowly and set small realistic goals. Working out daily for a short period of time keeps you in the habit and is preferable to longer workouts just a few times a week.

In the interview, she discussed a range of topics including her relationship with long-time boyfriend, pop star Enrique Iglesias. She said: “[Marriage] isn’t important to me. I’m in a happy relationship – that’s all that matters. I believe in commitment. I believe in being open and trusting each other and respecting each other completely.”
