Alison Sweeney is host of NBC’s The Biggest Loser as well as an actress who portrays Samantha “Sami” Gene Brady on Days of our Lives. For an article and fitness photo shoot in the November-December 2011 issue of Fitness Magazine she shared her couch potato workout. This is a full body exercise routine which can be done at home solely with your couch thus giving you a new reason to like your couch. She noted that this is a way to spend your television time productively with exercise.
The exercises address the core muscles of the body, which, as she points out in the video, are the foundation for ab strength enabling you to do exercises for all parts of the body with more intensity. Various exercises target muscles in the upper and lower body. She notes you can do time reps or numerical reps as you choose. During the behind-the-scenes interview she also talked about what it is like hosting The Biggest Loser. She said that the weight loss stories of participants resonate with her because she had battled with her weight during her life. She said, “Most women have the story of knowing what it’s like to be unhappy when you look in the mirror.”
